Donation FAQs
- Are donations tax-deductible?
- Yes. The Three-Deuce-Five Marine Foundation is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax-deductible. You will receive a tax receipt in the mail once your donation is processed. If you need a copy of our IRS determination letter, please contact us.
- How does someone apply for support?
- A Marine or Sailor need only ask! This can be done through his or her chain of command, or by contacting the Foundation directly. A representative of the Foundation will be assigned to contact the Marine or Sailor concerned to evaluate the request.
- How do families typically use the grants?
- Many families use the financial assistance to help balance the loss of income when an injured Marine is unable to return to full-time employment. Financial obligations start to pile up, and families use the help to ease that burden. We see families use it for childcare, mortgage payments, car repairs, bills, groceries, and other living expenses, among many other needs.
- Do you assist only Marines?
- We assist the Marines and Sailors of the 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines, other active duty and reserve Marines, residing within the geographic area served by the 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines and other honorably discharged Marines residing within the geographic area served by the 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines.
- How do I know my money will go directly to support our Marines and Sailors?
- We are a volunteer organization. We have no paid staff. We do not reimburse board members for expenses incurred. Virtually all of your donation will go to support our Marines and Sailors.
- Who makes up the Foundation?
- Our trustees come from various walks of life. Many are retired or former Marines and Sailors; many are civic and community leaders, business owners and professionals.
